SKSOFTDEV ("we," "our," or "us") operates the HoverMate mobile application (the "App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explicitly outlines how we handle your data, permissions, and ensure your information remains 100% private and secure.
Why we need this permission: HoverMate requires the AccessibilityService API to function properly. The core feature of this App is to translate, summarize, and analyze on-screen content instantly.
How it works: When you actively tap the floating "Magic Button", the Accessibility Service momentarily reads the visible text on your current screen to process your request.
Data Privacy Guarantee:
HoverMate is designed with a privacy-first approach. All your personal data, including your API Keys, custom prompts, and translation history, is stored LOCALLY on your device.
We utilize Android's EncryptedSharedPreferences (AES-256 GCM encryption) to securely store your API credentials. We do not have a backend server, and we do not collect, harvest, or transmit your local data to ourselves or any unauthorized third parties.
To provide advanced AI analysis and translation, HoverMate transmits the text extracted from your screen (upon your click) directly to the Google Gemini API.
This communication happens directly between your device and Google's servers. We do not act as a middleman. By using this App, you also agree to Google's data processing terms regarding their AI services. You can review their policy here: Google Privacy Policy.
To provide a seamless experience, HoverMate requires the following permissions:
You have full control over your data. Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time:
We prioritize your security by using industry-standard AES-256 encryption for storing sensitive credentials locally. However, please remember that no device is entirely immune to malware; we recommend keeping your device's operating system updated and secure.
HoverMate requires the use of third-party API keys (like Google AI Studio), which are generally intended for users 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent and believe your child has configured the App with personal API credentials, you may clear the app data or uninstall the App to remove such information from the device.
We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or Play Store policies. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
